Fans Love Noel Gallagher's Debut Solo Single

Fans have reacted in an enormously positive manner to Noel Gallagher's debut single 'The Death Of You And Me', which you can hear by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.

The track, which is the first to be revealed from the former Oasis guitarist's debut solo album 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds', was debuted this morning and has had fans heaping praise on it ever since.

NME.com user Ahmed Salem loved it, saying he believed that Noel had stolen all of brother Liam's thunder with Beady Eye, he wrote: "Better than Beady Eye's entire album. I wouldn't want to be Liam at the moment."

Tom Wells loved it too, he wrote: "The Chief has come back with what is arguably one of his best songs ever!" Chris Kinloch felt the same, he wrote: "Liam just had the smile blown off his face. Beady Eye is now revealed as being totally shit in comparison now. Welcome back Noel."

Will Whitby felt the same, he wrote: "I missed this sound so much! Pure perfection", while Alexandre Duvauchelle wrote on NME's Facebook page Facebook.com/nmemagazine: "Great song! I've been waiting for that for so much time and I'm not disappointed at all! Noel rules." Jade Wong did the same, simply writing: "Love it."

A few users compared the song to Oasis's 2005 single 'The Importance Of Being Idle', but didn't see this as a bad thing.

Jamie Baker wrote of this: "Sounds 'Importance of Being Idley'' which definitely isn't a bad thing as that's one of his best songs!" Jason Murphy agreed, he wrote: "Top notch. Very 'Importance Of Being Idle' if that makes sense. Love the sound and production. Looking forward to the album!"

its ok a bit dour!, nothing to get exicited about, might be better produced and more refined lyrics but lacks the punch, energy and freshness of beady eyes debut bring the light.

This really is a return to classic song writting. It's got a catchy melody and you can see Noel really wanted to bring in a wide variety of sounds and instruments for this one. It's a good first single and people really have to stop expecting that every time he releases something that it is going to be Wonderwall and Dont Look Bank In Anger all over again. What makes it even more amazing is that there is nothing else out there that even sounds remotly like it right now which gives it an origional feel.

As for Beady Eye I love them too but they are really just about rocking. They have some great songs to but its no secret that Noel was always the one who wrote their best songs so of course his solo album will be much better.

I still wish we had Oasis but at least now we have double the music to look forward to now.
