Liam Gallagher Ends Lollapalooza Set Early

Lollapalooza had barely started its opening day when it had its first major headline. Only 20 minutes into a set scheduled for an hour during the Chicago festival’s first day, Liam Gallagher walked offstage.

According to Setlist.fm, Gallagher opened with two songs he made famous with Oasis, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star” and “Morning Glory,” before moving on to two cuts from his upcoming As You Were, the single “Wall of Glass” and “Greedy Soul,” and then leaving the stage. Greg Kot, music critic for the Chicago Tribune, said that Gallagher ended the show without any explanation.

At 5:30PM Central, the time his set was supposed to end, Gallagher sent out a tweet in which he said vocal problems were the reason he cut his set short. “Sorry to the people who turned up for the gig in Chicago lollapalooza,” he wrote, “had a difficult gig last night which f—ed my voice. I’m gutted.”
